This sparkling wine is one of the most elegant and complex creations of Augusti Torelló Mata. The 2017 harvest in the Penedès region was particularly balanced — the grapes ripen slowly, maintaining an excellent balance of acidity and aromatics, which gives this Gran Reserva style cava expressiveness and long-term aromatic development potential. The aroma is dominated by ripe fruit — green and yellow apples, pears, dried lemon peel, brioche, nuts and subtle honey tones. The taste is dry (brut nature), with expressive, very fine bubbles, perfectly integrated acidity and a long, harmoniously structured aftertaste, in which both fruit and yeast nuances are felt.

About the manufacturer

Augusti Torelló Mata is a family-run wine producer whose history dates back to 1887 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, in the Penedès region of Catalonia, a place considered the heart of cava culture. Over the decades, the house has grown from a small farm to a highly regarded cava producer, but has always maintained a strong focus on quality and authenticity. From the very beginning, Augusti Torelló Mata has focused on creating expressive, terroir-reflecting wines, combining traditional production methods with modern standards. The producer's cellars are a complex network of underground tunnels where sparkling wines are aged according to the traditional method (secondary fermentation in the bottle). These cellars maintain a constant temperature and humidity, allowing the wines to mature slowly and evenly - an important factor in developing an elegant bubble structure and a delicate complex of aromas. Augusti Torelló Mata values sustainable work in the vineyards and a deep connection to the region's terroir, which is why their wines are not only characterized by technical mastery, but also by their distinctive character.
