Augusti Torelló Mata is a family-run winemaker whose history dates back to 1887 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, in the Penedès region of Catalonia, a place considered the heart of cava culture. Over the decades, the house has grown from a small farm to a highly regarded cava producer, but has always maintained a strong focus on quality and authenticity. From the beginning, Augusti Torelló Mata has focused on creating expressive, terroir-reflective wines, combining traditional production methods with modern standards. The winery’s cellars are a complex network of underground tunnels where sparkling wines are aged using the traditional method (secondary fermentation in the bottle). These cellars maintain a constant temperature and humidity, allowing the wines to mature slowly and evenly – an important factor in developing an elegant bubble structure and a delicate aroma complex.
