The aroma reveals cherry, plum, dried fruits, tobacco, cedar, cocoa, and subtle spices. Aging provides notes of vanilla, leather, and light earthy, "forest floor" nuances. On the palate, the wine is elegant, complex, with very soft, already integrated tannins and a bright, refreshing acidity. The finish is long, deep, and constantly evolving – from fruitiness to spice and oak nuances.

About the manufacturer
Bodegas Muga is one of the most important classic Rioja wineries, located in the town of Haro, in the so-called Barrio de la Estación – the historic center of Rioja wine. The winery was founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño, and today it is managed by the third generation of the family. From the very beginning, Muga has maintained a strong family identity and a very clear goal – to create wines that reflect the Rioja Alta terroir, while maintaining maximum precision and quality control. This is one of the few Spanish wineries that controls the entire production process itself – from the vineyards to the production of oak barrels. Muga has its own cooperage and even several master coopers, allowing them to precisely control the type of oak and its influence on each wine. Wines are fermented in traditional wooden vats, aged in various types of oak barrels (French, American, and other origins), and aging is carried out under highly controlled conditions to achieve a balance of elegance, structure, and longevity. Philosophically, Muga stands between tradition and modernity: they maintain a classic Rioja style with oak influence, but also strive for cleaner fruitiness and a more precise expression of the terroir. It is precisely because of this balance that Muga is considered one of the most reliable and recognizable Rioja wineries in the world – its wines are often regarded as "the benchmark of classic Rioja," with long aging potential and a clear, elegant structure.
