Viña Nora was founded in 2002 on the banks of the Miño River, in the Condado do Tea subregion, the southernmost part of Rías Baixas. The winery owns Albariño vineyards growing on exceptional granite and alluvial gravel soils, which give the wines their characteristic minerality and freshness. In addition to its own plots, Viña Nora collaborates with growers in other prestigious Rías Baixas zones to convey the character of different terroirs. The winery's philosophy is based on a balance between fruit ripeness and the freshness provided by the Atlantic climate. Nora wines are never rushed to market – they are aged longer than most young Albariño wines to gain more texture and complexity. Due to this approach, Viña Nora is considered one of the representatives of the modern Albariño movement, creating not only fresh but also gastronomic, elegantly aging white wines.
