The aroma reveals notes of cherry, dried plum, fig, and black fruits, together with vanilla, cocoa, tobacco, sweet spices, and delicate floral hints. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, concentrated, and velvety, yet maintains an unexpected freshness and elegance. The taste is dominated by cherry liqueur, dark chocolate, espresso, liquorice, and spices. The tannins are ripe and soft, and the finish is long, complex, and warm.

About the manufacturer
Brigaldara is one of the most respected wineries in the Valpolicella region, located in San Pietro in Cariano in Veneto. The family history dates back to the early 20th century, but the modern face of the winery was shaped by the Cesari family, especially Stefano Cesari, who dedicated much attention to terroir research and highlighting the identity of different Valpolicella zones. Today, Brigaldara is considered one of the most important representatives of the traditional, elegant Valpolicella style. Their philosophy is based on balance and local character. Unlike some more modern Amarone or Ripasso producers, Brigaldara does not aim for maximum power or sweetness, but for purity, acidity, and longevity. "Il Vegro" is an excellent example of this philosophy — the Ripasso style here retains a hint of Amarone's complexity but does not lose its vitality and elegance. As a result, Brigaldara is often mentioned among the highest-quality traditional Valpolicella producers by both critics and wine enthusiast communities.
