The aroma is dominated by dried cherries, plums, raisins, and dark berries, along with notes of cocoa, coffee, mild tobacco, and spices. On the palate, the wine is soft, rich, and round – showing a natural "jam-like" fruitiness, yet maintaining a good acidic structure to prevent the wine from being heavy. The finish is of dried fruits with hints of cocoa.
About the manufacturer
Cantina Orsogna is a large Abruzzo cooperative located near the Maiella mountains and the Adriatic Sea. It is one of Italy's strongest wineries in the organic and biodynamic movement – a large part of its production is certified organic or biodynamic, with Demeter certifications. Their philosophy is very clear: as little chemistry as possible, as much of nature's voice as possible. The vineyards are maintained sustainably, and the wine style is focused on simplicity, transparency, and expression of place.
