About the manufacturer
Carpineto is one of the most important modern Tuscan wine houses, founded in 1967 by two friends, Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo, who had a clear vision: to create high-quality Chianti Classico and prove that Tuscany could compete with the world's best wine regions. From the very beginning, they combined tradition with innovation, implementing advanced viticulture and enology practices (lower yields, controlled fermentation, modern oak usage), which made Carpineto one of the first examples of "modern classicism" in the region. Today, Carpineto owns several different estates across Tuscany — from Chianti Classico to Montalcino and Montepulciano — and produces a wide range of DOCG and IGT wines, including Brunello di Montalcino. Their style is often described as structured, reliable, and focused on longevity: their wines are crafted to combine Sangiovese's acidity, aging potential, and clear expression of terroir, maintaining a balance between tradition and modern winemaking technology.
