The year 2024 in the Tagus region was distinguished by a spring with more abundant rainfall and a cooler start to the vegetation, while the summer brought warm but not extreme temperatures, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The wine is characterized by an exceptional purity of aromas and a maintained acidity. The grapes were hand-selected to ensure maximum purity and quality. Fermentation took place in stainless steel and partially oak barrels, without trying to overshadow the typical aromatic profile of the variety. Malolactic fermentation was not applied.

The aroma reveals white flowers, orange peel and subtle spices. The taste is rich in citrus notes with a soft minerality and a long lasting aftertaste. This is an elegant yet characteristic white wine, in which you can feel both the tranquility of nature and the skill of the winemaker.

About the manufacturer

Casal da Coelheira is a family-run farm founded in 1986 in the village of Tramagal, in a bend of the Tagus River, north of Lisbon. The name, meaning “place where hares are born”, comes from the abundance of wild animals that still thrive in this part of the landscape. The farm consists of around 64 hectares of vineyards spread over sandy chernet soils, shaped by temperate climate conditions of hot, long summers and cold, wet winters. This environment requires hardy vines with less foliage, but allows for the production of intensely fruitful berries with excellent concentration.
Terroir, varieties and wine style. Casal da Coelheira cultivates both traditional Portuguese varieties—Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Fernão Pires, Arinto—but also selected international variants, such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon or Alicante Bouschet, adapted to the local soil and climate.
