The terrace of the Tejo River, where the vineyard is located, has a warm climate and loamy soil, allowing the grapes to maintain their natural acidity even in sunny years. The harvest is carried out at night to keep the grapes cool and preserve the freshness of the aromas. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks to highlight the fruitiness and freshness. Malolactic fermentation was not applied.
The wine has aromas reminiscent of citrus fruits, white flowers and a subtle herbal note. The taste reveals the lightness, refreshing acidity and clean, mineral aftertaste typical of white wines from the Tagus region.

About the manufacturer
Casal da Coelheira is a family-run farm founded in 1986 in the village of Tramagal, in a bend of the Tagus River, north of Lisbon. The name, meaning “place where hares are born”, comes from the abundance of wild animals that still thrive in this part of the landscape. The farm consists of around 64 hectares of vineyards spread over sandy chernet soils, shaped by temperate climate conditions of hot, long summers and cold, wet winters. This environment requires hardy vines with less foliage, but allows for the production of intensely fruitful berries with excellent concentration.

Terroir, varieties and wine style. Casal da Coelheira cultivates both traditional Portuguese varieties—Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Fernão Pires, Arinto—but also selected international variants, such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon or Alicante Bouschet, adapted to the local soil and climate.
