The aroma opens with peaches, pineapples, citrus, and white flowers, complemented by notes of fresh almonds, brioche, and light toasted bread. A distinct chalky minerality is felt in the background. The taste is dry, very fresh and elegant, with fine, lively bubbles. Notes of citrus, white peaches, pears, grapefruit, and subtle brioche are present. The finish is long, mineral, and harmonious, with the characteristic tension of Montgueux chalk.

About the manufacturer
The history of Champagne Jean Velut began in the 1960s when Jean Velut and his wife Huguette lost their land due to the expansion of the city of Troyes. The family moved to the village of Montgueux and started planting vineyards there. The first harvest was only 639 kg, but today the family owns about 7.5 hectares of vineyards in one of Champagne's most interesting Chardonnay terroirs. The winery is now run by Denis Velut with his son Benoît Velut, continuing the family philosophy of creating elegant Champagnes that reflect the character of the terroir.
Montgueux is distinguished by its deep chalky soil and southeastern exposure, which gives the Chardonnay here an unusual ripeness while maintaining a distinct mineral tension.
