The aroma opens with ripe quince, white peach, pear, and orange peel, complemented by notes of chamomile, fresh brioche, toasted almonds, and oyster shells. A distinct chalk and wet stone minerality is evident in the background. The taste is dry, intensely concentrated, and precise, with very fine bubbles and an impressive balance of acidity and maturity. Notes of Meyer lemon, mandarin, white stone fruits, almonds, and subtle yeasty tones are present. The finish is long, salty, chalky, and exceptionally elegant, a gastronomic Blanc de Blancs crafted for long aging.
About the manufacturer
Vazart-Coquart & Fils is a family winery in the village of Chouilly Grand Cru, whose history began at the start of the 20th century. Today, it is run by Jean-Pierre Vazart, a third-generation winemaker who believes that Chardonnay's greatest potential is revealed not through technology, but through patience and respect for the soil.
The family has been working organically for many years, and since 2020, all their vineyards have been certified organic. Each plot is vinified separately to preserve its individual character, and long aging on lees and very low dosage allow the purity of Chouilly's chalky terroir to express itself.
