The aroma reveals lemon, green apple, pear, and white flowers, followed by notes of brioche, pastry, almonds, and a delicate orange peel. In the background, the minerality of chalk and iodine, characteristic of the Chouilly terroir, is distinctly present.
On the palate, the wine is dry, creamy, and very elegant, with fine bubbles and focused acidity. The fruitiness is clean – citrus, apple, white stone fruit – and a subtle texture from yeast aging emerges in the mid-palate. The finish is long, saline, and mineral, with a slight bitterness of nuts and citrus peel that provides a structural backbone.
About the manufacturer
Vazart-Coquart & Fils is a family winery in the village of Chouilly Grand Cru, whose history began in the early 20th century. Today, it is run by Jean-Pierre Vazart, a third-generation winemaker who believes that the greatest advantage of Chardonnay is revealed not through technology, but through patience and respect for the soil. The family has been working organically for many years, and since 2020, all their vineyards have been certified organic. Each plot is vinified separately to preserve its individual character, and long aging on lees and extremely low dosage allow the purity of the Chouilly chalky terroir to shine through.
