La Dame de Favray is a prestigious Château Favray cuvée named in honor of Françoise Reugny De La Rivière, also known as “la dame de Favray”. She was Marguerite de France – known as Queen Margot’s lady-in-waiting. The wine comes from limestone slopes, which give it an exceptional minerality and elegance. The aroma is dominated by notes of citrus fruits, white flowers and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is fresh, balanced, with a long, mineral finish
About the manufacturer
Château Favray's history dates back to the 17th century, when vineyards were first planted in the region. After a long hiatus, they were revived at the end of the 20th century, and today the winery is known for its focus on quality and the authentic character of Pouilly-Fumé. The main idea is to reveal the purity and elegance of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, conveying the characteristics of this unique terroir.
The vineyards are located on hilly slopes covered by clay and limestone soils, which give the wines minerality and a fresh structure. The terroir is characterized by excellent sunlight and a balanced climate, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving the intensity of the aromas and the freshness of the acid.
