The 2023 harvest in the Loire was challenging, but September brought sunny and dry days that allowed the grapes to reach an ideal point of ripeness. The grapes were harvested in the morning to preserve their aromatic purity. This Pouilly-Fumé wine was born on old limestone slopes, which convey a subtle smoky aroma - from which the name "fumé" comes. The aromas are dominated by freshly picked citrus, lime peel, pear and hints of white flowers, complemented by the minerality of wet stones. The palate is fresh, intense and refined - a perfectly expressed terroir character, a balance between fruitiness and structure, with a long, mineral aftertaste.

About the manufacturer
Château Favray's history dates back to the 17th century, when vineyards were first planted in the region. After a long hiatus, they were revived at the end of the 20th century, and today the winery is known for its focus on quality and the authentic character of Pouilly-Fumé. The main idea is to reveal the purity and elegance of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, conveying the characteristics of this unique terroir.

The vineyards are located on hilly slopes covered by clay and limestone soils, which give the wines minerality and a fresh structure. The terroir is characterized by excellent sunlight and a balanced climate, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving the intensity of the aromas and the freshness of the acid. In addition to the vineyards, Château Favray also cherishes a stud farm - it is not only the heritage of a historic estate, but also a place that emphasizes a deep connection with nature and tradition. This harmony between grapes, horses and people creates a unique atmosphere in which elegant and characteristic wines are born.
