The village of Fronsac is located on the right bank of Bordeaux, where the Dordogne and Isle rivers meet. It is a place that has never been the most popular, but has always been considered a solid place for winemaking. Limestone plateaus, clay, slopes with good drainage - this is a terroir that makes Merlot speak quietly but deeply. Here the wine is not sweet or bloated. The wine communicates about structure, energy, how the wine feels in the mouth, not how loud it screams in the glass.

About the manufacturer
Château Moulin Haut Laroque is a traditional family wine from the Fronsac appellation, with roots stretching back generations in the Bordeaux region. The vineyards grow on limestone and clay soils, providing structure and minerality to the final product. This vineyard typically has old vines (average age around 55 years), which means lower yields but greater intensity of flavor. Thomas and Frédéric were the first to handle the 2021 harvest, continuing the family tradition of producing Bordeaux reds with good structure and fruity elegance. Château Moulin Haut Laroque consistently receives good critical acclaim and is seen as a balanced quality Bordeaux wine with good aging potential – from now until several decades into the future.
