2006 was a fairly classic Sauternes year in the Barsac region, not particularly abundant, but of very high quality. The autumn weather was favorable for the development of noble rot, giving the wines an exceptional balance between sugar and acidity. The harvest was carried out in several stages, as is typical for Sauternes wines, selecting only grapes with perfectly developed noble rot. This allowed for the creation of a subtle, delicate, yet concentrated dessert wine, characterized by elegance and freshness.

About the manufacturer
Château Nairac, a historic winery classified in the 1855 Bordeaux classification as a Deuxième Cru Classé, boasts a history dating back to the 17th century, when the first vines were planted. The estate took its current form in the 18th century when it was acquired by Élisée Nairac, after whom the wine is named. Over the centuries, the winery has weathered downturns, disease, and frosts, yet remained true to its style, renowned for its elegance and subtlety. In 1971, the estate was acquired by Thomas Heeter and his wife Nicole Tari, whose family has been involved in Bordeaux viticulture for many decades. Since 1993, their son Nicolas Tari-Heeter has overseen winemaking, introducing more modern practices while preserving the classic character.

Today, Château Nairac adheres to the credo "Inséparable d'une culture" – "inseparable from culture". Their philosophy is based on a deep connection with the land, the microclimate, and local traditions. The estate is gradually transitioning to organic viticulture, aiming for each bottle to reflect not only the nobility of sweet wines but also a responsibility for the region's heritage. Nairac wines are born from patience, hand-picked harvests, and the belief that true quality arises from respect for nature and history.
