The wine is made from Xarel·lo and Macabeo grapes grown in the calcareous and chalky soils of Penedès. It is fermented using the classic method ("méthode traditionnelle") and after the secondary fermentation no sugar is added ("Brut Nature"). The color is light yellow, the aroma is dominated by citrus, white fruits, green apples and subtle yeast/bakery notes. In the mouth the wine is fresh, dry, elegant, with a mineral accent.

About the manufacturer

Cisteller is a smaller-scale, family-run project focused on preserving and showcasing the true character of local Catalan grape varieties such as Xarello, Macabeo, and Parellada. The producer works in small batches, carefully selecting the grapes, and aims to create accessible yet terroir-expressive wines.
The producer follows the principles of organic winemaking, avoids chemical fertilizers, and uses a minimal intervention method both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The vision is to produce clean, authentic wines that tell the story of Penedès through the prism of local varieties. They believe that Xarello can be not only the base used for cava, but also a serious, elegant white wine that reflects the identity of the Mediterranean climate.
