The aroma reveals ripe black cherry, blackberry, plum, blueberry, purple flowers, black pepper, anise, licorice, tobacco, and Mediterranean herbs. The taste is rich and concentrated, yet maintains freshness due to its bright acidity and volcanic minerality. The tannins are structured and silky, with graphite, slate, dark fruit, and spice notes unfolding in the long finish. This is a wine that reflects the typical character of Priorat's llicorella (slate) soil – intensity, minerality, and longevity.

About the manufacturer
Clos Mogador is one of the legendary wineries that helped revive the reputation of the Priorat region in the late 20th century. The winery was founded in 1979 in the village of Gratallops by French-born winemaker René Barbier, who, along with other pioneers, put Priorat back on the world wine map. René Barbier saw potential in a then-almost forgotten region – on steep mountain slopes, where old vines grew in poor llicorella slate soil. These conditions force the vines to send their roots deep into the rock, resulting in low-yield, highly concentrated, and distinctive wines.
