About the manufacturer

Bénédictine is produced in Fécamp, Normandy. According to legend, the original elixir was created by Benedictine monk Dom Bernardo Vincelli in 1510, and in the 19th century, wine merchant Alexandre Le Grand rediscovered the recipe, turning it into one of the world's most famous herbal liqueurs. The letters D.O.M. on the bottle stand for the Latin phrase "Deo Optimo Maximo" ("To God, most good, most great") – a traditional motto associated with the Benedictine order.
