With this wine, Viña De Martino aims for a classic expression of Carménère – structure, balance, and subtle spiciness, without excessive extraction or oak influence.
The aroma is deep yet precise: ripe black plums, blackberries, and blackcurrants merge with notes of dried herbs, green pepper, tobacco leaves, and a hint of graphite.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with balanced, lively acidity and fine, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long, dry, with a subtle bitterness and herbal accent that is very typical of the Carménère variety.
About the manufacturer
De Martino winery is a family-owned company, founded in 1934 by Pietro De Martino, an Italian immigrant who created ideal conditions for wine production in the Maipo Valley. The winery consistently invests in organic winemaking and sustainable farming, aiming to reveal the diversity of Chilean regions and the authentic expression of terroir. The winemakers constantly travel to different areas of Chile, searching for unique plots for the production of individual, distinctive wines, striving to prove that Chile can produce wines of the highest quality. De Martino was the first to export "Carmenere" wine abroad in 1996, and currently, their single-vineyard wines consistently receive high praise from both wine critics and enthusiasts and professionals.
