Australia is a continent so far away that its wines are still shrouded in myth and prejudice. During this tasting, we will taste the main grape varieties that have shaped the success of Australian viticulture. We will talk about why eucalyptus aromas are so common in Australian wines, how climate and landscape shape taste, and why screw-on corks have become a quality standard in Australia, not a compromise. This will be an opportunity to get to know a continent that has long since transcended the stereotype of “hot and powerful wine” and understand how Australian wine culture differs from the European traditions we are familiar with.
The tasting will be led by Ugnė Mažutaitytė, a sommelier at Gaston Wine House who has obtained the Court of Master Sommelier Certified diploma.
