On the nose, this wine is intense and "meaty": notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, plums, and cherries are evident, along with black pepper, olives, leather, smoke, graphite, roasted meat, and a hint of vanilla oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied, powerful yet silky, with firm but ripe tannins and a lively acidity that gives the wine structure. The finish is long, savory, with a combination of dark fruit, spice, and mineral "stone" energy.
About the manufacturer
Delas Frères is a historic Rhône Valley producer, established in the 19th century and now owned by the Deutz/Champagne group (Louis Roederer). Since the 1990s, the revived modern Delas style focuses on precise wines that emphasize terroir expression. "Domaine des Tourettes" is one of their most important Hermitage projects, often considered a classic, clean, and structured example of Hermitage Syrah, perfectly reflecting the potential of this prestigious slope.
