The aroma reveals citrus, white flowers, peaches and subtle herbaceous notes. In the mouth, the wine is fresh, yet surprisingly concentrated, with a distinct chalky minerality and a long, salty finish. The 2017 vintage is considered one of the most successful Bouzeron wines of the last decade.

About the manufacturer

Domaine de Villaine was founded in 1973 in the village of Bouzeron by Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of the legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Together with his nephew Pierre de Benoist, he sought to restore the prestige that the Aligoté grape variety had lost in the 20th century. It was thanks to their efforts that Bouzeron became the only appellation in Burgundy dedicated to Aligoté. The winery has been applying organic methods since 1986 and became certified organic in 1997. Its philosophy is based on respect for the terroir, the preservation of old Aligoté Doré vines, and minimal intervention in the cellar. Domaine de Villaine is today considered the main ambassador of Bouzeron and one of the most important names in the entire Côte Chalonnaise.
