The aroma reveals lemon zest, toasted almonds, white flowers, ripe peach, and subtle toasted notes.
On the palate, the wine has a creamy texture but maintains the tension typical of Meursault – nuttiness, citrus freshness, and a mineral streak are present. The finish is long, with a delicate hint of salinity and nuts.

The 2020 vintage offers greater maturity and concentration, making the wine quite expressive already, yet still possessing the structure for further evolution.

Clos de Mazeray is a historic Meursault monopole, situated on the edge of the village, surrounded by walls (clos). The plot was established in the Middle Ages by Cistercian monks, and its soil – a layer of calcareous clay over an ancient riverbed – imparts both roundness and mineral precision to the wine.
This is one of those Meursault wines often considered a "secret Premier Cru level" terroir, although it officially remains classified as a village wine.

About the manufacturer

Domaine Jacques Prieur is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious estates, boasting a rare concentration of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards across both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Since its establishment in the 19th century, it has remained focused on the expression of high-end terroir and is today owned by the Labruyère family. The winery is renowned for working with some of Burgundy’s most celebrated plots (Montrachet, Musigny, Chambertin) and its philosophy is based on minimal intervention in the winery and maximum expression of the site.
