The aroma reveals yellow apples, lemon, ripe peach, toasted nuts, and notes of butter and light vanilla. On the palate, the wine is rich but retains bright acidity and prominent minerality. The finish has citrus peel, a slight saltiness, and subtle hints of toasted oak. The 2018 vintage boasts excellent concentration and can be aged for 8–10 years.
About the manufacturer
Domaine Rolet was founded by Désiré Rolet in 1942 in the town of Arbois. Over several decades, the family estate grew to become one of the largest and most important properties in the Jura region, managing approximately 65 hectares of vineyards in the Arbois, Côtes du Jura, and L'Étoile appellations. In 2018, after the Rolet family's departure, the estate was acquired by the Devillard family from Burgundy, who maintained the traditional style and continued the production of high-quality Jura wines. Today, Domaine Rolet is considered one of the most significant wineries that helped popularize the Jura region internationally.
L'Étoile is one of Jura’s smallest and most prestigious appellations. Its name means “star” and refers both to the five hills surrounding the village and to the star-shaped marine fossils, called pentacrinites, found in the soil. The grey marl soils from the Lias period give Chardonnay wines exceptional minerality, freshness, and longevity.
