One of Italy's most renowned white wines, where Burgundian elegance meets Piedmontese character. The aroma reveals ripe peaches, yellow apples, citrus fruits, white flowers, and acacia blossoms, complemented by subtle notes of honey, vanilla, and toasted hazelnuts. The taste is rich, with a silky texture, yet fresh and precise – perfectly balanced acidity, minerality, and a long, elegant finish give this wine exceptional sophistication.

About the manufacturer

Gaja is one of Italy's most influential wineries, founded in 1859 in the town of Barbaresco. Five generations of the Gaja family built the winery's reputation, but its greatest impact came from Angelo Gaja, who, since the late 1960s, fundamentally changed the perception of Italian high-end winemaking. He was one of the first in Piedmont to reduce yields, implement meticulous vineyard selection, use French oak barriques, and emphasize the uniqueness of individual plots. These decisions made the Gaja name one of the most important in global winemaking. Today, the winery is managed by the fifth generation of the family – Gaia Gaja, together with her siblings Rossana and Giovanni Gaja, while Angelo Gaja remains an active ambassador for the winery's philosophy and quality. The name Rossj-Bass comes from Angelo's daughter Rossana's nickname "Rossj" and the word Bass, referring to one of the family's vineyards. The wine is produced from Gaja's own vineyards in the Barbaresco and Serralunga d'Alba areas and has been considered one of Italy's most prestigious Chardonnay examples for many years – elegant, long-lived, and precisely reflecting Gaja's ambition to create world-class wines.
