The aroma reveals ripe red and black fruits, cherry and plum confit, wild Mediterranean herbs, mineral notes, and a subtle toasted oak character. The taste is soft and fruity, yet possesses a good structure of acidity and tannins. The finish is long, fresh, and mineral, with lingering accents of dark fruits and spices. The name 2πR itself refers to the circumference of a circle – the wine was created as a "round," balanced, and easily understandable example of Priorat style.

About the manufacturer

Gratavinum is a project of the Cusiné family in Priorat, started in 2003 when the family acquired vineyards and a winery in the village of Gratallops. The family also owns the historic Penedès winery Parés Baltà, so the Gratavinum project combines years of winemaking experience with the desire to explore one of Catalonia's most dramatic terroirs. The vineyards are located on Priorat's steep terraces, on the famous llicorella – black slate – soil. This poor and stony soil, the hot Mediterranean climate, and the old Garnacha and Cariñena vines give the wines their concentration and minerality. Gratavinum focuses on organic viticulture and aims to preserve the natural character of Priorat, while creating wines that are not overly strict, but fruity and pleasant to drink.
