This Brouilly wine is elegant, fruity, and vibrant, with a clear expression of Gamay character. The aroma is dominated by notes of red berries – cherries, raspberries, cranberries – along with hints of herbs, black pepper, and a touch of earthy spice. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium-bodied, with soft yet well-structured tannins and bright, energetic acidity. There's a noticeable fruit juiciness, earthiness, and a light mineral undertone that provides structure. The finish is long, harmonious, and fruit-expressive – a perfect example of Gamay from Brouilly.

About the manufacturer
Hospices de Beaujeu is a historic organization in the Beaujolais region, stemming from an old tradition of supporting the local community through wine production. The Hospices were founded to support hospitals, nursing homes, and other social programs, with wine auctions becoming a means to finance these activities. The name Domaine Cuvée Jean Gaudet honors a person associated with the preservation of this tradition – it is a symbolic name that marks an exceptional wine from this collection. The philosophy of the house is based on respect for history, local terroir, and community heritage – it is not just about wine production, but also a social tradition passed down from generation to generation.
