The aroma is dominated by cherries, pomegranates, wild strawberries and plums, along with notes of dried herbs, graphite, smoke and black tea. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, elegant and very lively, with bright acidity and fine tannins. The taste combines red fruits, volcanic minerality, pepperiness and subtle earthiness. The finish is long, dry and slightly salty.

About the manufacturer

Cantine Iuppa is a family-run Etna DOC winery, located in Sicily, in the town of Milo, on the slopes of Contrada Salice. The winery was born from a strong family idea to work with the Etna terroir — among volcanic lava soils, significant temperature fluctuations, and high-altitude vineyards (around 530–750 m). From the very beginning, the farm chose an organic path: manual work in the vineyards, minimal interventions, green fertilization (sovescio), and avoidance of chemical interventions. The philosophy is very clear — wine should be "the voice of the place," not a technological product, so each cuvée aims to showcase Etna's volcanic character: salinity, minerality, acidity, and aromatic purity.
Another important aspect of the winery is its strong family identity: many wines are named after family members, and each project is linked to a specific plot or *contrada*. This is not an industrial producer – Iuppa operates as a small but highly focused Etna terroir project, which grew organically, while simultaneously modernizing the old palmento building and expanding production to tens of thousands of bottles per year. The head winemaker and technical director is Federico Curtaz, one of Etna's renowned oenologists, who has worked with Iuppa since its early days. His role is to combine very "clean," modern oenological precision with the natural expression of Etna – that is, not to overcomplicate the wine, but to let the volcanic terroir speak for itself.
