Poli Distillerie is a family-owned distillery in Veneto, founded in 1898 by the Jacopo Poli family. This grappa was born from a special collaboration between the Poli family and Tenuta San Guido: the pomace of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes left over from Sassicaia production travels to the Poli distillery, where it is distilled in a copper still. The distillate is then aged in barrels that previously held Sassicaia wine itself – thus making it not just "grappa from a specific vineyard," but also a spirit directly linked to one of Italy's most famous wines.
