The aroma of Cuvée 747 is very precise and "tense": citrus fruits (lemon peel, grapefruit), green apple, and tangerine merge with notes of brioche, toasted bread, almonds, and a light spice (white pepper, ginger). On the palate, the wine is dry, energetic, and structured – the bubbles are fine, almost creamy, yet very lively. The taste transitions from citrus freshness to a mineral, chalky backbone with subtle fruitiness and a light nutty warmth. The finish is long, saline-mineral, with a very clean, "linear" end.

Jacquesson is one of those Champagne houses that consciously rejects a "standard house style" – each cuvée reflects specific years more than a consistent taste pattern. Cuvée 747 is based on the 2019 vintage, whose character was strongly shaped by climatic contrasts, making it more Pinot-dominant, structured, and mineral than classic, "round" NV Champagnes. This is a Champagne focused on precision, terroir, and tension, rather than sweetness or lightness.

About the manufacturer

Jacquesson is one of the most terroir-oriented Champagne houses in the Champagne region, known for consciously rejecting a uniform "house style" and instead emphasizing the expression of each year. Led by the Chiquet brothers, Jacquesson has radically changed its philosophy since the 1990s: they have reduced yields, implemented more ecological vineyard management, minimized intervention in the cellar, and almost eliminated excessive dosage to keep the wine dry, precise, and "linear." Their idea is that Champagne should speak of the year and the place, rather than corrections or a technical "standard." Therefore, each cuvée (e.g., the 700-series) is like a specific vintage narrative, not a fixed recipe. This is a house that treats Champagne as an expression of wine, not a "consistency product," which is why their style is often described as intellectual, taut, and highly precise.
