The aroma is dominated by fresh cherries, raspberries, pomegranates, and violets, along with light notes of earth, spice, and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is light, very silky and refreshing, with subtle tannins and bright acidity. The taste reveals sour cherries, red fruit pits, and a gentle earthiness. The finish is dry and elegant.

About the manufacturer

Jeff Carrel is one of the most famous contemporary consultants and winemakers in Southern France, renowned for his ability to create highly drinkable, characterful wines that offer excellent value for money. At the beginning of his career, he worked with iconic names in Southern France, such as Grange des Pères and Mas Daumas Gassac, before developing his own projects in the Languedoc region. The name "Les Darons" means "parents" or "the old generation"—a reference to the old Grenache vines that form the backbone of this wine. Jeff Carrel's philosophy is very clear: less technology, more regional character, fruit, and drinkability. His wines are often rich and Southern French in style, yet they maintain freshness and balance, which has made "Les Darons" one of the most popular examples of modern Languedoc style.
