The aroma is dominated by ripe plums, black cherries, blackberries, and figs, along with notes of cinnamon, licorice, white pepper, cocoa, and menthol. On the palate, the wine is rich, concentrated, and very textured, yet it retains freshness and fine tannins. The flavor combines southern fruit ripeness with elegant spiciness and a pronounced oak character. The finish is long, warm, and slightly balsamic.

About the manufacturer
Jeff Carrel is one of the most famous contemporary consultants and winemakers in Southern France, renowned for his ability to create very drinkable, characterful wines that offer excellent value for money. Early in his career, he worked with cult names in Southern France, such as Grange des Pères and Mas Daumas Gassac, and later developed his own projects in the Languedoc region.
"L'Eclipse" is one of his most personal projects. Carrel himself describes this wine as a "symphony" – a combination of different terroirs, varietals, barrels, and textures. The name "L'Eclipse" symbolizes a brief escape from the modern pace of life – a wine that is meant to stop time for at least one evening.
