The aroma is dominated by blackcurrant, plum, blueberry, and blackberry, alongside notes of pepper, liquorice, cocoa, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is rich but very juicy and soft, with silky tannins and a fresh finish. The taste combines ripe dark fruits, spices, and a hint of smokiness.

About the manufacturer
Jeff Carrel is one of the most famous contemporary consultants and winemakers in Southern France, renowned for his ability to create very drinkable, characterful, and excellent value-for-money wines. At the beginning of his career, he worked with cult names in Southern France such as Grange des Pères and Mas Daumas Gassac, and later developed his own projects in the Languedoc region. The name "La Bette" comes from the traditional Mediterranean fishing boat – a tribute to the culture of the Roussillon region, where the sea, mountains, and ancient Catalan traditions converge. Jeff Carrel himself created this wine as a very authentic interpretation of Southern France: not luxurious or "heavy," but vibrant, juicy, and easy to understand.
