The 2024 vintage in the Rías Baixas region was characterized by a cool, Atlantic climate with sufficient rainfall, which helped maintain vibrant acidity and aromatic intensity. The aroma reveals notes of citrus – lemon and lime – green pear, white peach, and subtle nuances of floral and sea breeze. On the palate, the wine is dry, very refreshing and light, with bright acidity and a clean, mineral character. A slight salinity, typical of this region, provides structure. The finish is refreshing, crisp, and elegant, with lingering citrus and fruit tones.
About the manufacturer
Bodegas La Val is one of the more significant Albariño wine producers in the Rías Baixas region, established in 1985. The winery was one of the first to contribute to building the modern reputation of this region, elevating Albariño to an international level. Their philosophy is based on freshness, elegance, and the expression of terroir – aiming for each wine to reflect the Atlantic influence, cool climate structure, and mineral soils characteristic of this coastal area.
La Val manages several different vineyard plots, spread across various Rías Baixas subregions, which allows them to work with different microclimates and soils. Great attention is paid to vineyard work – hand-harvesting, careful selection, and minimal intervention in the cellar.
