One of Islay's most iconic whiskies, renowned for its intense peat smoke character and exceptional balance. The aroma reveals peat smoke, seaweed, iodine notes, dried fruits, vanilla, toffee, and subtle nuances of leather and tobacco. The taste is rich, with an oily texture and extremely complex – the sweet malt character is complemented by strong smokiness, black pepper, toasted oak, caramel, and a light salinity. The finish is very long, warming, and smoky – this is one of the most recognizable profiles of Scotch whisky in the world.

About the manufacturer
Lagavulin Distillery was officially established in 1816 by John Johnston on the southern coast of Islay and today is one of Scotland's oldest operating distilleries. Due to slow distillation, long fermentation, and intensely peated malt, Lagavulin has developed a distinctive style, considered one of the greatest benchmarks of Islay whisky.
Today, the distillery is owned by the Diageo group and is one of the six legendary distilleries in the Classic Malts of Scotland collection. Water from Loch Sholum is used for production, and distillation proceeds slowly, using traditional copper pot stills. The current distillery manager is Jordan Paisley, who continues the Lagavulin traditions nurtured for over two centuries.
