A fresh and elegant Norman sparkling pear drink, characterized by a delicate aroma and exceptional lightness. The aroma reveals ripe pears, white flowers, apple blossoms, and citrus notes. The taste is gentle, refreshing, and harmonious – natural fruitiness combines with a light sweetness, fine bubbles, and a refreshing, mineral aftertaste. Due to its low alcohol content and elegant character, this poiré is considered one of the classic examples of Normandy.

About the manufacturer
Léon Desfrièches et Fils is a historic producer of Norman cider and Calvados, better known by the brand name Le Père Jules. The farm's history began in 1919 when Jules Desfrièches, returning from the First World War, started producing cider from the apples in his orchards. In 1949, his son Léon Desfrièches created the brand Le Père Jules, honouring his father, and today the farm is run by the fourth generation of the family – Guillaume Desfrièches.
The farm is located in Saint-Désir, near the town of Lisieux, in the Pays d'Auge region. The family owns about 100 hectares of traditional high-stemmed orchards, where apples and pears are grown for the production of cider, poiré, and Calvados. Production adheres to traditional Norman methods – only fruits from their own orchards are used, with slow fermentation and respect for the natural character of the fruit. Due to more than a century of cherished traditions, Le Père Jules is today considered one of the most famous and respected producers of Norman cider, poiré, and Calvados.
