The aroma is dominated by cherries, black cherries, raspberries, almonds, and subtle spice tones. On the palate, the wine is rich, structured, yet elegant, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish. The 2017 vintage offers an excellent balance between fruitiness, freshness, and maturity. Clos de Malte is one of the most famous monopolies in the village of Santenay. This 7-hectare enclosed vineyard is located in a small valley at the foot of Mont de Cène hill, where it is protected from winds and boasts excellent exposure. Clay and limestone soils provide structure to the wines, while the higher part of the vineyard is characterized by a higher limestone content, which contributes to elegance and minerality.

About the manufacturer

Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy's most important and historically influential négociant houses, founded in Beaune in 1859. The winery was established by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, who began by purchasing vineyards in the Côte de Beaune region and aimed to create wines that reflected the character of different Burgundian terroirs, rather than the style of a single estate. By the early 20th century, the Jadot family was firmly established in the Burgundian wine trade, and a key turning point came when the company began to expand its relationships with top-quality vineyard owners across the region – from Chablis in the north to Mâconnais in the south. This allowed them to become one of the few houses capable of offering a complete "map" of Burgundy in a single portfolio.
After the Second World War, Louis Jadot became a globally recognized name, especially for its consistent style: clean, classic, technically precise Burgundy wines. In 1985, the company was acquired by the American Farraut family, but complete winemaking autonomy in Burgundy was maintained – this allowed the traditional style to be preserved while strengthening international expansion. Today, Jadot is one of Burgundy's largest estate and négociant houses, managing both its own vineyards (including Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots) and working with long-term partners throughout the region.
