The aroma reveals blackcurrant, cherry, walnuts, and cloves. On the palate, the wine is rich, round, and concentrated, with liquorice notes, silky tannins, and a long mineral finish. The 2018 vintage shows excellent fruit ripeness while maintaining the structure and longevity characteristic of Corton. Ageing potential – 10–15 years and more.

Clos du Roi ("The King's Enclosed Vineyard") is one of the most prestigious Corton Grand Cru climats. Its history dates back to the 15th century when the domain of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, passed to the French crown after his death, thus becoming the king's vineyard. Its eastern exposure and limestone and marl soils give the wines power, minerality, and exceptional ageing potential. This climat has long been considered one of the best sources of Pinot Noir from the Corton hill.

About the manufacturer

Maison Louis Latour is one of Burgundy's oldest and most prestigious family wineries, founded in 1797 in the village of Aloxe-Corton. The Latour family had been growing grapes since the 17th century, and over more than two centuries, they built one of the largest Grand Cru vineyard estates in all of Burgundy. The historic Château Corton Grancey, acquired in the late 19th century, and a modern, ahead-of-its-time five-story gravity-flow winery became the family's most important symbols. To this day, the company remains independent and run by the Latour family, and its philosophy is based on respect for terroir, traditional winemaking, and exceptional attention to quality. Maison Louis Latour is also the only company in Burgundy with its own cooperage (tonnellerie), where oak barrels are produced annually for aging their wines.
