The aroma reveals notes of vanilla, brioche, yellow peaches, and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is rich, round, and concentrated, yet retains the freshness characteristic of Meursault. Citrus, ripe stone fruit, toasted nut nuances, and prominent minerality are perceptible. The finish is long, elegant, and harmonious.

Goutte d'Or is one of the most famous Meursault Premier Cru climats, located in the southern part of the village, on the way to Puligny-Montrachet. The name means "drop of gold" – it originates from the yellow flint stones abundant in the soil, resembling gold drops. The stony marl and Jurassic limestone soil give the wines exceptional concentration, richness, and minerality. This climat has long been considered one of the most prestigious Meursault Premier Crus, and it is said that it was one of US President Thomas Jefferson's favourite Burgundy wines.

About the manufacturer

Maison Louis Latour is one of Burgundy's oldest and most prestigious family wineries, founded in 1797 in the village of Aloxe-Corton. The Latour family had been growing grapes since the 17th century, and over more than two centuries, they built one of the largest Grand Cru vineyard estates in all of Burgundy. The historic Château Corton Grancey, acquired in the late 19th century, and a modern, ahead-of-its-time five-story gravity-flow winery became the family's most important symbols. To this day, the company remains independent and run by the Latour family, and its philosophy is based on respect for terroir, traditional winemaking, and exceptional attention to quality. Maison Louis Latour is also the only company in Burgundy with its own cooperage (tonnellerie), where oak barrels are produced annually for aging their wines.
