Mackmyra Stjärnrök Swedish Single Malt Whisky 0.70 l

Mackmyra Distillery was founded in 1999 and is considered the first modern Swedish whisky distillery. It essentially started the history of Swedish single malt whisky, based on the idea of creating whisky exclusively from local ingredients – Swedish barley, water, and carefully selected casks. The distillery stands out for its innovative, energy-efficient distillation technologies and continuous experimentation with different casks and local Swedish oak. Stjärnrök (Swedish for “Star Smoke”) was first introduced in 2021 as a limited edition whisky, inspired by the dark Scandinavian autumn and winter evenings. Due to its great success, it has become a permanent part of the Mackmyra range. Unlike traditional Scottish peated whiskies, Stjärnrök boasts a distinct Swedish character – part of the malt is dried not only with peat but also with juniper twigs, giving the whisky unique herbal, forest, and spicy notes, which have become one of Mackmyra's hallmarks.
