The aroma of Calvarino 2022 is very "clean" and precise: lemon, green apple, white peach, pear, along with white flowers (acacia, jasmine), fresh herbs and a hint of almond. There is also a clear line of wet stone, flint and volcanic minerality. On the palate, the wine is dry and refreshing, vertical and tense, with a bright but elegant acidity. The texture is slightly creamy from prolonged contact with the lees, but remains very precise and "linear". The finish is long, salty and mineral, with lemon zest and almond at the end.
About the manufacturer
Pieropan is one of the most important historical Soave families, operating since the late 19th century and considered a pioneer of the modern quality Soave movement. Calvarino was one of the first single-vineyard white wines in Italy (since 1971), and today it is considered a benchmark Soave Classico – a wine that shows that Garganega can be not only light but also very long-lived and complex.
