The year 2013 was exceptional: after a cold winter and cool spring, the grapes ripened late, but the quality exceeded expectations. The best Chardonnay berries were carefully harvested in the vineyards of the Chouilly Grand Cru village, which, after different fermentation processes in oak and steel barrels, allowed the wine to reveal deep and elegant aromas. The wine was aged on the lees for more than 8 years, which gave it a delicate texture and a long-lasting taste.

The aroma is captivating – soft citrus, fruit trees, intertwined with floral hints, while the aging on the lees gives it subtle yeast and nutty notes. The taste is extremely elegant, mineral, with fresh acidity, and the aftertaste lingers for a long time.

About the manufacturer

Pierre Legras is a family-run champagne house located in the Grand Cru village of Chouilly, in the Côte des Blancs region. The tradition of winemaking dates back to 1662, when Pierre Legras was born, considered the founder of this dynasty. In 2002, Vincent Legras, a representative of the eleventh generation, founded the Champagne Pierre Legras brand in honor of his ancestor. With the help of his father, he expanded the farm from 5 to more than 10 hectares, of which 7 hectares are in the Chouilly Grand Cru vineyards. In 2011, his wife Marcelline joined the business.
Today, Champagne Pierre Legras is famous for its Blanc de Blancs champagnes, made from Chardonnay grapes grown in limestone soil, which gives the wines a distinctive minerality and elegance. The farm uses sustainable farming and has been certified HVE3 (Haute Valeur Environnementale) since 2020.
