The aroma is dominated by black cherry, plum, blueberry and blackcurrant, together with notes of Mediterranean herbs, tobacco and light spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, juicy and very lively, with soft tannins and good acidity. The taste reveals ripe dark fruits, black pepper, cocoa and a subtle mineral note. The finish is long, fruity and harmonious.

About the manufacturer

Querciabella was founded in 1974 by Giuseppe “Pepito” Castiglioni and is today considered one of the most important biodynamic and organic wineries in Italy. The name means “beautiful oak forest,” and the winery is renowned for its extremely precise approach to terroir, sustainability, and natural balance in the vineyards. Querciabella was one of the first Tuscan wineries to abandon chemicals and adopt biodynamic practices back when it was not yet popular. Today, the winery is led by Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni, who continues the family philosophy: respect for nature, minimal intervention, and the pursuit of an extremely elegant, “clean” style. Querciabella also stands out because all of their wines are vegan — no animal products are used in their production.
