The 2019 Monte Bello is a highly structured, elegant, and long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon. The aroma reveals blackcurrants, black cherries, blueberries, along with nuances of cedar, tobacco, graphite, mint, and a subtle earthiness. On the palate, the wine is dry, full-bodied, with firm yet very refined tannins and bright acidity that gives the wine its backbone and long aging potential. The finish is exceptionally long, mineral, with an evolution of dark fruits, herbs, and spices.

About the manufacturer
Ridge Monte Bello is one of the most important wines in California's history. Ridge Vineyards is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains and has been producing this Cabernet from the Monte Bello vineyard – one of the highest and coolest Cabernet vineyards in California – since the 1960s.
The biggest historical moment occurred in 1976 during the "Judgment of Paris" – a blind tasting in Paris where French experts evaluated both French and Californian wines. Everyone expected Bordeaux to win, but Californian wines shocked the world – they were rated higher than many prestigious French grand crus.
Ridge Monte Bello was one of the wines that was highly rated in this context and became a symbol that California could produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon capable of competing with Bordeaux classics.
This event fundamentally changed the entire history of wine worldwide—it was the moment when the "New World" officially proved it could rival the Old. Later, this story was immortalized in the film "Bottle Shock," which dramatizes the breakthrough of California wine and the revolution of this period.
