2018 was a balanced year in the Altamira region, with warm days and very cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and maintain exceptionally bright acidity and concentration. These conditions, combined with Altamira's terroir (stony, calcareous soils at high altitudes), gave the wine a strong structure and a clear mineral backbone.
The aroma reveals notes of violets, lavender, black plums, and blackberries, along with nuances of cocoa, toasted oak, spices, and a hint of anise. On the palate, the wine is dry, full-bodied, with firm but well-polished tannins and refreshing acidity that balances the rich fruitiness. The finish is long and intense, with hints of dark berries, cocoa, and herbs.

About the manufacturer
Rutini Wines is one of Argentina's most historically significant wineries, founded in 1885 by Felipe Rutini in Mendoza. From the very beginning, their goal was to transfer European winemaking experience to the foothills of the Andes and demonstrate that Mendoza could produce high-quality, long-lasting wines. Today, the winery works with high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley and other areas of Mendoza, where high elevation, intense sun, and cool nights allow them to maintain acid balance and aromatic precision. Their philosophy is based on precise work in the vineyards, careful selection, and technological accuracy in the cellar – aiming for a balance between fruit concentration, structure, and elegance, so that each wine clearly reflects the character of the Andean terroir.
