The 2023 vintage in the Marlborough region was characterized by a very good balance between sunny days and cool nights, which allowed for the retention of bright acidity and intense aromatics. The aroma is dominated by tropical fruits – passion fruit, gooseberries, citrus peel, and light notes of blackcurrant buds and herbs. On the palate, the wine is refreshing with vibrant, playful bubbles that highlight citrus, gooseberry, and light stone fruit tones. A light minerality and gentle salinity are noticeable, providing structure. The finish is clean, crisp, and refreshing, inviting another sip.

About the manufacturer

Saint Clair Family Estate was established in 1994 by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, though their story began even earlier, in 1978, when they were among the first to plant vineyards in the Marlborough region. This estate is considered a true pioneer of the region, having helped Marlborough become renowned as one of the best Sauvignon Blanc regions in the world. From the very beginning, their goal was not only to grow grapes but also to produce wine themselves that would reflect the best characteristics of their plots. Today, Saint Clair remains family-owned and is one of New Zealand's most awarded producers. Their philosophy is based on detailed work with different vineyards – each plot is evaluated and vinified separately to highlight terroir differences. Special attention is paid to Marlborough micro-regions, such as Dillons Point, where the climate and soil allow for the production of exceptionally aromatic, fresh, and mineral wines.
