  • Kamptal Austria
  • 100% Grüner Veltliner
  • Dry white wine, aged in neutral oak barrels
  • 13.5%

An elegant, precise and highly expressive Grüner Veltliner. The aroma reveals ripe yellow apples, pears, lemon zest, mango, meadow herbs and the characteristic spiciness of white pepper. The taste is lively, juicy and textural, with prominent acidity, subtle yeastiness, and mineral and spicy notes. The finish is long, fresh and saline. The 2019 vintage is characterized by an excellent balance of concentration and freshness – the wine already shows maturity but still has great potential to age further.

About the manufacturer

Schloss Gobelsburg is one of Austria’s oldest wineries, with a history dating back to 1171. For a long time, the winery was associated with the Cistercian Monastery of Zwettl, and today its wines are crafted by winemaker Michael Moosbrugger, one of the most important names in the modern Kamptal wine region. Moosbrugger’s approach combines traditional methods with precise, terroir-driven winemaking. Schloss Gobelsburg focuses heavily on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, with single vineyard wines produced to clearly express the character of their specific site. Ried Renner is a terrace located on the slope of Gaisberg. The vineyard’s soil is primarily composed of paragneiss, amphibolite, and mica, covered with loess and eroded material. Due to the deeper soil, the vines here have better water retention capabilities, and the wines are characterized by an elegant texture, minerality, and expressive spice. Ried Renner belongs to the 1ÖTW Erste Lage category.
