This natural sparkling wine is very special – it is made without disgorging ( undisgorged ), so the sediment and yeast remain in the bottle, giving the wine a lightly sorted, cloudy appearance and an additional textural dimension. The 2023 Hang On has delicate bubbles and a creamy body, with notes of baked apple, white peach and light yeast. On the palate, it is dry, with a medium to slightly higher acidity profile, which gives the wine liveliness and structure, and a clean, long aftertaste.

About the manufacturer

Soma Vines is a small, organic wine project started by Antoine Lucchesi and Daisy Merrick. Originally from Marseille (France), Antoine studied oenology and worked in winemaking at companies such as Sekthaus Griesel in Germany and Domaine Brand et Fils in France, while Daisy, from Norwich (UK), had experience in the wine industry, including a WSET Advanced qualification and work in London and New York. Soma Vines started in 2018 as a wine import and distribution project in Berlin, but has gradually developed into an independent winemaking initiative.
Since 2023, they have been renting ~4 hectares of vineyards around Eckelsheim (Rheinland-Pfalz), working on a low intervention principle: spontaneous fermentation, no filtration, no clarification and with minimal (or no) added sulfates. This approach allows their wines, such as Hang On 2023, to maintain a very natural character – a fresh, simply expressive fruit profile with light sparkling bubbles, which we obtain thanks to the results of an informal production method. These types of wines are often “pet nat” (traditional method – fermentation is completed in the bottle), giving them a natural liveliness, playful texture and a clear reflection of the local terroir. They are intended for those who appreciate a combination of natural, low-intervention viticulture and an innovative, contemporary approach to winemaking.
