An exceptional peated Speyside whisky – a rare instance where the traditionally fruity and elegant Speyside style meets a peaty character. The aroma reveals peat smoke, vanilla, caramelized apples, honey, toasted nuts, malt, and light herbal and maritime notes. The taste is rich and intense – creamy vanilla, stewed apples, brown sugar, toasted oak, and gentle peat smoke combine into a harmonious, long finish. Despite its high alcohol content, the whisky retains its elegance and fruity Speyside character.

About the manufacturer
Speyside Distillery was founded in 1990 in the Speyside region, near the town of Kingussie, in the Scottish Highlands. Although the name "Spey" is often confused with the region, it is a specific distillery brand. The distillery is located in the Spey River basin, which has historically been considered one of Scotland's most important whisky regions due to its mild climate, pure water, and suitable conditions for producing high-quality single malt whisky.
The distillery's philosophy focuses on small-batch production and a traditional approach to single malt whisky. Fūmāre (Latin fumare – "to smoke") is the distillery's first more heavily peated project, using peat-dried barley. Unlike Islay whiskies, which often feature an intense medicinal and maritime smokiness, Spey Fūmāre aims to maintain Speyside elegance – more fruitiness, malt sweetness, and a softer smoky character.
